Had I the heaven's embroidered cloths
Entrought with golden and silver light
나에게 금빛과 은빛으로 짠 하늘의 천이 있다면,

 

The blue and the dim and dark cloths
Of night and light and the half-light,
어둠과 빛과 어스름으로 수놓은
파랗고 뿌옇고 어두운 천이 있다면,

 

I would spread the cloths under your feet
But I, being poor, have only my dreams
그 천 그대 발 아래 펼쳐 드릴텐데
나 가난하여 가진 것은 꿈 뿐.

 

I have spread my dreams under your feet
Tread softly because you tread on my dreams.
그 꿈 그대 발 아래 펼쳤으니
사뿐히 밟으소서, 그대 밟은 것 내 꿈이오니.
